Another Vessel

In spite of suggestions that I should create something besides vessels ;) I can't seem to stop making them! Could they be addicting? I enjoy the hand-felting (both wet and dry) that goes into them, and embellishing them with beads makes them double fun. I have a lot of vintage metal, glass, and bakelite buttons to use on something, and this small vessel (2" x 2") seemed perfect for a metal button. It's not visible in the photo, but the cut-outs on the button are backed by a polished mirror-like surface that gives it extra sparkle. The additional photos below are of the back, bottom and inside of the vessel. I know I'll be making more of these, but I hope to post another doll next.

Barbara, I can see that making these is addictive. You seem to be adding more embelishment with each vessel you make. I really like this one. The colors are so pretty and the beads and buttons give this vessel a personality.

Beautiful! I love the colors you chose, the beads and buttons really jazz up this new vessel. Keep them coming for us to see.

Sometimes something addictive is exactly what we need and its a good thing to just give into it and go with the flow. Your 'flow' is certainly lovely!

You are really perfecting these....each one looks great and then the next one always seems to look even better...not sure how that is possible, though!!!

The colors in this are just lovely. But then I adore blue and purple. The beads add such an eye pleasing touch to the vessels too. Your artistry certainly shows in your designs.

Another pretty vessel. If you are enjoying making these and they are not "harmful to your health" then it's a good addiction. Although..I do miss our getting together to sew a quilt project.

Now, who would suggest making other things? ha! I love em. It's fun to experiment and see how different they all turn out. :0) Love it!

Your vessels are beautiful! Are you crocheting these first and then felting them or are you using actual wool pieces to make them? I crocheted a couple of purses and then felted them a couple of years ago and just wondered. I've thought about making some felted bar soap bags.

Have been trying to email you and reply to your emails to me. No luck so I thought a comment here would work. did you get my address? Also, about the oddments, my son came up with that. I was just saying 'odd things' and I thought his word sounded pretty good.
