Both of these model boats have a rich NJ bay history. The blue one is a Garvey and the green one is a Sneakbox. Again, both started with a block of raw basswood that my husband carved, sanded, painted, and varnished. Everything is made of wood except the crab traps (screening) and bent nail boom on the Garvey, and the ducks (polymer clay) on the Sneakbox. A Sneakbox might be seen camouflaged by marsh grasses for duck hunting.

He's doing a great job with these wood carvings~
ReplyDeleteHow fun these are!
ReplyDeleteI love what he's doing. My uncle made doll houses. I'm happy to own one. He also made other miniature things.
ReplyDeleteLove Dad's boats :)

I love those boats! And I was looking at your other post, and I would love to see the kitty bed you make. :) I have 2 cats that are always climbing in my laundry baskets - I should make one. :) thanks for visiting me - xo Pam

They are so cool! I love the top one because it has a folk art feel to it and I love the colors.
