This is a piece from my lost blog. I always love trees as subjects, so this 18" x 30" project got my attention. I'd like to say it's my original design, but alas, it was done by pattern. However, using all batiks was my idea. It took tons of tiny appliqué stitches, and I really liked doing it. It's on the wall in my son and daughter-in-law's home.

I love it! Using batiks just makes most pieces.
ReplyDeleteI remember when you did this! I did the bear in the woods. Said it would be my first & only all appliqued piece. So neat that you still get to see this at your son's place. I gave mine to my sister & see it once in awhile too.
ReplyDeleteI just love trees and you have successfully created a serene composition here. Just lovely! Peace, Mary Helen Fernandez Stewart
ReplyDeletep.s. We got the mid-west snow last night..
It is a very nice piece. I can't imagine doing all of that appliquè by hand though.
ReplyDeleteI love landscape quilts! This is great!
ReplyDeleteOh my, I remember when you lost your blog!!! I think I had just starting following you around then, and started mine...I was so afraid it could happen to me. Eeeek, hope not! I'm glad you pushed though and made a new one!!
I love trees also -- so majestic. This is a beautiful piece and I'm glad we got to see it.
ReplyDeleteThis piece is just fabulous, I want to walk among those trees...just so peaceful and inviting.
ReplyDeleteI am taken by the peaceful, soothing feeling from the color combination and use of the batik material. Amazing.
