Unbelievable Mural Art

Yvonne of "Inkspiller's Attic" posted a photo of mural art, and it made me think of some murals near me in Mount Holly, NJ. This is the most incredible one, even in person it's hard to believe every detail of each of these "buildings" is a painting!

We have several murals here in downtown Newark also...I love these public art walls. They tell the story of the early canal days and our Market Street. If weather permits I will try to capture a couple of shots...we are sharing our hometown inspirations. Peace, Mary Helen Fernandez Stewart

That's an amazing series of murals, would love to see them up close.

Here in Beverly, MA, we have an Art college, Montserrat College of Art. The city has "given" the students a number of public locations where they can let loose with their creativity and paint. The murals are changing all the time, as the students arrive for Freshman year and as they grow up through the school. One of the areas they have been given is a set of 10 railroad cargo cars that sat ugly on side tracks for years. The students have turned them into amazing art. I will have to get a picture.

Sounds like fun, everyone share their town's murals!

This one absolutely amazing Barbara! I love murals and try to find them when I travel. South of us about 80 miles is a town named Harlingen and it is known for its many murals. I believe there are about 40 total and I just about found them all. They do have a map of each along with the story in a brochure you can pick up at the Chamber of Commerce. They are all just amazing but this one you have shown is so detailed...wow! It would be great to see it in person.

Ha, I was looking in the picture to see the mural. Then I read the words again and saw that the picture IS the mural. Wow!
