Knitted and Felted Urn

The shape of this 4" urn is modeled after ancient urns and tear urns. I hope to add handles and perhaps a top to my next one. The yarn I used to knit this is 100% wool which is required for felting. The sculpted and painted polymer clay face was a gift from Whytefeather of "Squirrelly Ducks" blog, and the glass beads around the face are interspersed with crystals. I love the surprise of coloration that happens from using variegated yarn!

Fabulous!! You're a real master of this technique and I can't wait to see the handles and lids on future pieces.

That is just wonderful. I love it! Looks like it was hard to create.

Looking forward to what's next. The colors are gorgeous; my favorite blues. Love the beading and the face especially. Another jewel.

It makes me happy that you have the faces to add to the projects you feel called to.
