Quirky Rag Doll

I'm not sure where this project is going, but I'm starting to feel a personality emerging here. I was inspired by the use of vintage buttons on other blogs and Etsy. I love creating faces, and I have *so* many old buttons! There is still much to do on her, perhaps legs and hair which will probably make her about 15" tall, and I will post an update later. In the meantime, does she need a name? Send suggestions, and the one I like most will receive a squishy envelope in the mail. :)

I love it!! *smile* How about Ms. Hoodoo Voodoo? Can't wait to see her finished. What are you going to use for her hair? This is just a FUN piece!

Oh she is soooo cool! Love her, she has a lot of personality shining through. She looks like a Boo to me, but I'm not there with her in person, that makes a difference!

She just makes me smile....this is a different direction for you but I think this is officially fantastic. I agree the whimsy here brings this doll to life. Thank you for sharing. Peace, Mary Helen Fernandez Stewart

She's so adorable and reminds me of an owl. The genus name, Athene noctua, derives from the owl's association with the Ancient Greek Goddess Athena, who was often depicted with an owl perched on her head.
She will bring good luck! Can't wait to see her finished.

She looks complete to me. Beautiful balance of colors. Her face is so striking; just perfect. Buttons are connectors, so I am going for Miss Connect.

LOL.. She reminds me of "The Other Mother" in Coraline (the book.) So I would call her Other or Otha for short.
