Back to Weaving

I tried to make this more interesting than my first box weaving where I only used yarn. I added some lace, decorative edging, and torn fabric strips to this one. It's still in progress and looks off kilter, but wetting and blocking should square it up. I'll post a photo of it finished soon. I'm still having fun doing this, and the possibilities for what can be woven seem endless. Excited!

I am so happy to see that you are having fun with the box loom. Did I create a monster? Ha ha. You are braver than I am about adding "non-yarn" items to the weaving. Somewhere I saw where someone had woven tinsel garland into a piece. You know Christmas is just a few months away. Ha ha.

Wonderful! Its always fun to be able to use a variety of fibers and decoration.

I love your weavings, Barbara. Perhaps its something for me to try once I have cleared the next 50 projects from my list. I always say you never think inside the box, and although this weaving is in a box, I believe your creativity with it lies outside the 4 sides of the box, as usual!

Looks texturally interesting! (I make up words to suit my thoughts) lol

I picked up a frame at a yard sale and thought I would turn it into a type of loom similar to the box. We'll see where that goes. I like the idea of weaving different textures, much like I do in crochet.

Soothing, warm, earthy colors. I love the texture the different fibers create and how they play off each other. Another amazing art piece.
