An Important Issue!

In case you missed it in the news this week, here is an important heads up. I know many bloggers have been leaving in favor of using Facebook. I've been doing both and having fun. There have always been concerns about lack of privacy on FB, but blatant manipulation of it's users is even worse. I find it unacceptable, and to be honest, a bit scary. If this interests you, check these two links, and make your own informed decision.

  1. Yup, I have never been a fan of FB. They keep changing their set up and the USERS have to be sure to change THEIR settings to deter the changes.
Everyone on FB seems to be divulging their life secrets without a second thought to privacy. I think that the now generation don't know or care what privacy is. Everyone complained about Pinterest while FB was what they should be keeping an eye on.

Glad we still have a blog community.

  2. The first link did not go through for me, but the second one did. Eye opening. I'm really not liking what they are doing!

  3. I have never liked fb and stayed away from it for years even though most of my blog friends are more active there and most are no longer blogging.
I was done when they went through my personal emails-but as you know I recently set up over there cause of wanting to stay in touch with friends.
one of my friends suggested the adblock plus which really helps especially on fb and on pinterest so I don't see any of those ads anymore, and I do not look at or read their newsfeed. one does have to on top of security settings all the time over there too.
I have heard allot of bad stuff about google too with their cookies etc so I constantly clear my history on my computer every day, and I don't stay logged in anymore either on sites.
always have to be aware of what is going on around us-I refuse to use a smart phone since there is little privacy on those and they track what you do there as well

  4. Ridiculous ain't it? Have never been on Facebook, and now absolutely never will. The first time I went to join in and it wanted to access my contacts or else I got creeped out and left. That was nothing compared to what they are up to now.

  5. Facebook gives me a big old headache. I found the same articles. I'll probably stay on, because most of my kids are on there, but I don't like it. :)
