"Red Jack" Rhododendron

This is our front door today, identical to the way it looked when we moved in 35 years ago. We have tried to buy more rhododendrons this blood red color, but they are difficult to find. It's hard to believe something this pretty is poisonous!

  1. I love them, but they don't grow well for me. I need plants that don't need anything but fertilizer and weeding. I suspect I don't have the correct acidity or something. I have NEVER seen a red one.

  5. Gorgeous! I never knew they were poisonous - we have wild ones growing along the creek banks here - lovely pink ones.
