New Jersey - The Garden State

I took this photo on my evening walk tonight. We have lived in this NJ neighborhood for 35 years, and this annual scene hasn't changed over those decades. With the help of her two sons, our aging neighbor Martha can still be seen off in the distance tending her fields. We benefit from her harvest every year!

We also have a favorite roadside market. We were reminded just the other day that it's almost time for it to open. I love to buy fresh and we always take some good stuff to Terry's mom and dad too. I think that might be a lot of the reason I enjoy buying there. Fresh and Reasonably priced. Terry thought the time flew by since the last time we were there...not me. I think it was a looooong time ago.

Fresh homegrown produce sounds great. I am waiting for the farmer's market to get started here.

Lucky you! The nearest family owned farm stand is 45 min away for us! It's near my parents' house where I grew up and I stopped in the other day. Those places make me so happy - I usually always buy more than I should - this time I bought tomatoes, onions, and a bag of gorgeous fresh new potatoes. Yum!
