From My Window

Wild turkeys are common here, but not this close to the house. Their size is awesome!

OMGosh!! We have been seeing wild turkeys everywhere. Just a few years ago I had never seen a wild one until we went to Mammoth Cave in Kentucky. The other day we were driving in the county and Terry said "Hey, did you see that turkey. He was laying down in that driveway taking a rest." I commented that I hadn't seen it so he backed up to show me. THAT TURKEY AND 2 OTHERS WERE JUST WALKING AROUND...NOT ONE WAS LAYING DOWN. He lied. But he did want me to see them! They really are beautiful up close. I never knew how pretty their feathers are.

We have them all over our subdivision and in the forest around us. They cross the road as a large group and three or more cars can be held up waiting for them. I love it when the sun is on their feathers and the roosters are all puffed up.
