Sort Of Painting Each Day

Somehow, I mixed up the order of my blog posts. This post is really the next step in my papier-mâché bowl (pictured drying a couple posts down). Actually, I had enough medium left to make a second small bowl, and they are now rock hard. I don't know how I'll paint them yet, but Gesso had to come first. I applied two layers, then was so tired that I quit for today (feeling my years ;). I'm showing the Gesso drying so you'll know I'm still "painting" something each day!

I didn't know they had to be gessoed before you paint them. I suppose it acts as a primer coat just as it does on canvas.

These vessels look ancient-this is a great idea!
