Something New

I'm trying out some new things. This is an experiment in making an art doll with a wire and papier mache armature. The final step of painting it will either make it or break it. Either way, this is really fun, and I feel like I'm back in grade school!

Oh, that is so fun!!! I have sewn one art doll. I think maybe I should try one in paper mache. I may need some instruction.

OMGosh!! Where did you get this inspiration!?!?! I thought the wired armature was cool. Then you paperclayed it! I can't wait to see it! You do dolls so well. Back to when I first met you, different venue.

Very cool! I think you are brave to do the papier mache! I tried it and made some big animal head-it got MOULDY! Yuk. I had to toss it of course, but I was NOT a happy crafter-it took me hours of work. I even put the piece on the register to dry...what did I do wrong? Maybe too many layers at one time....Oh well-enough of me-I can't wait to see the finished doll-she's looking cute already.
About the moth-she was about 4 inches tall-am I saying that right? I mean her wing span would have been about 7 inches-she was quite impressive. She sure loved that old window....

That looks like fun. I've never put an armature in a doll. I have to try it sometime soon.

So much character in these, great. I am attempting to make some out of pipe cleaners and fabric, not got great results yet.

How fun these are. There's such fun to creating a 'thing' or 'person'.
